North Korea Warns of Nuclear Deployment in Response to US Assets in South Korea

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has threatened more offensive actions to repel what he called increasing United States military activity near the Korean Peninsula.
Threat of Nuclear Use
North Korea's defense minister issued a stark warning to the US, stating that the deployment of nuclear assets in South Korea could trigger the use of North Korean nuclear arms.
International Response
The United States, Japan, and South Korea have jointly warned North Korea that an unprecedented level of retaliation would follow if it conducted a seventh nuclear test.
Recent Missile Launches
North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles toward the sea on Friday, marking its first ballistic missile launches in two weeks. The US command responsible for safeguarding the American homeland monitored the missile activity.
