Netherlands' Eurovision History

A Legacy of Success and Participation

Since the inception of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956, the Netherlands has been a consistent participant, appearing in all but a handful of editions. This unwavering commitment to the event is a testament to the country's deep-rooted love of music and its dedication to international cultural exchange.

First Double Winner

In 1957, the Netherlands made history by becoming the first country to win the Eurovision Song Contest twice. Teddy Scholten's "Een beetje" and Corry Brokken's "Net als toen" brought the prestigious trophy to the country for the first and second time, respectively.

Since then, the Netherlands has enjoyed a string of successful performances, securing five victories in total. Most recently, Duncan Laurence triumphed in 2019 with his stirring ballad "Arcade." Despite the cancellation of the 2020 contest, Laurence remains the reigning champion.
