1928 Henderson Motorcycle For Sale

Henderson: The Finest American Motorcycle Ever Made

The Henderson Motorcycle Company

The Henderson Motorcycle Company was founded in 1912 by William Henderson and Thomas Henderson. The company was based in Detroit, Michigan, and produced motorcycles until 1931. Henderson motorcycles were known for their high quality and performance, and were considered to be among the best motorcycles in the world.

The Henderson De Luxe

The Henderson De Luxe was the flagship model of the Henderson Motorcycle Company. It was introduced in 1928 and was the largest and fastest motorcycle that the company had ever produced. The De Luxe was powered by a 4-cylinder engine that produced 36 horsepower. It had a top speed of over 100 miles per hour, and could accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under 6 seconds. The De Luxe was also one of the most expensive motorcycles on the market. It sold for $550, which was more than twice the price of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Despite its high price, the De Luxe was a popular motorcycle among wealthy and discerning riders.

The End of Henderson

The Henderson Motorcycle Company went out of business in 1931, due to the Great Depression. The company was unable to compete with the larger and more established motorcycle manufacturers, such as Harley-Davidson and Indian. Today, Henderson motorcycles are considered to be some of the most collectible motorcycles in the world. The De Luxe is particularly sought-after by collectors, and can fetch a high price at auction.
