Goals from Zelarayán and Etienne help Crew reach semifinals
The Columbus Crew defeated Nashville SC 2-1 on Sunday night at Lower.com Field to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Crew won both of their home playoff games, both by a 2-1 scoreline.
Lucas Zelarayán opened the scoring for the Crew in the 25th minute with a penalty kick. Nashville's Hany Mukhtar equalized in the 55th minute, but Derrick Etienne scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute. The Crew held on to their lead for the final 15 minutes of the match to secure their spot in the next round.
The Crew will now face the New England Revolution in the Eastern Conference Finals. The first leg of the series will be played in Columbus on Sunday, November 6 at 3 p.m. ET.
